Studio
Built for the studio,
ready for every sound.
Metrekare Records was founded in 2016 by Sinan Durur. Today it stands as one of the most advanced independent recording studios in Turkey — with an acoustically tuned live room, a control room with real-time monitoring and a modern outboard processing chain.
Philosophy
The sound of the region, world-class quality.
Our studio sits at a cultural bridge between Eastern Anatolia and the Mediterranean. We treat that cultural richness as a design decision: our studio is planned so that the melody of folk music and the energy of electronic production can be tracked in the same room at the same quality.
A room that captures the timbre of the saz without losing the brightness of a modern vocal. A workflow in which the artist stays in control and production serves them.
The Space
From acoustics to cabling.
Each room's acoustic treatment was designed independently: bass traps, broadband panels and diffusers for a flat frequency response; variable acoustic curtains for recordings that need natural room sound.
The entire signal path is balanced; real-time cross-routing between the analog and digital domains. With RME and Apogee converters, signal integrity is preserved from microphone to monitor.
Studio Areas
Three separate rooms,
one discipline.
Each room has a clear function: monitor, perform, produce. Visual contact across the rooms, with only acoustic separation between them.
Control Room
An acoustically symmetric mix/mastering room with Genelec and Yamaha NS-10 reference monitors. Apogee Symphony I/O and UA Apollo X16 as the main interfaces. Hybrid routing through outboard processors.
Live Room
A large-volume space for acoustic tracking with variable acoustic curtains. Optimised for drum kit, acoustic guitar, bağlama-saz and choir recordings. Variable absorption for different sonic characters.
Vocal Booth
Low noise floor, dead-reverb environment — built for rap, pop and voice-over. Visual contact and talkback inside; vocalist comfort prioritised.
Online Lab
A calibrated secondary system dedicated to incoming stem files. A 24/7 active workstation for online clients, built for fast turnaround.
2016 — Today
A short story.
Metrekare was first founded as a rock band in 2016. That same year, the recording space established by Sinan Durur stepped onto the city's scene as "Metrekare Studio". First came the band's own productions, then recordings for local artists.
Over the intervening years the studio has been continually upgraded — equipment, acoustics and workflow alike. As of 2025 Sinan Durur is focused on his solo career; the studio continues to operate both as the launchpad for his releases and as the region's professional recording reference.
