I'm a türkü interpreter with bağlama and vocal tracks ready. How does the mix approach?
Provide a reference interpreter/album in the brief. We balance vocal-bağlama accordingly, keep bağlama in natural sustain, foreground vocal, use reverb sparingly.
Who decides the arabesque vocal reverb character — you or me?
Either. In the brief, write 'classic arabesque reverb' (wide hall, long decay) or 'modern' (controlled plate, short decay). If unspecified, we present two versions.
My ud recording sounds artificial — I went line in. Should I have used a mic?
Definitely mic. Line in (piezo pickup) keeps an artificial quality even after EQ. We recommend re-recording if possible.
I need a live CD/USB for a wedding — different master?
Yes — for live environments, master is slightly higher level with tighter compression for cut-through in noisy rooms. Specify use case (stream + live) for two master versions.
Classic bendir and darbuka recording is busy. Will you simplify?
Provide a reference. If you like the busy character, we preserve it. If you want simplification, we tuck some percussion layers behind a clearer foreground hit.
There are mix studios in Bursa — why work remotely with you?
Quality. Pro Tools HDX, SSL bus, UAD analog, Focal Solo6 ST — this chain may not match local infrastructure. If you're happy locally, no problem; if not, distance isn't the issue.
I dislike 'modernised' takes on traditional music. Will you respect that?
If the brief says 'traditional character, not modernised', we honour it: gentle vocal compression, dry natural instruments, classic reverb. Modernisation is your choice, not ours to impose.
My vocal has small pitch drift. Will you tune it?
Light tuning (respecting microtonal traditional tuning) is included in the mix package. Specify makam/koma usage in the brief — we won't pull to Western temperament accidentally.
I'd like to gift my mother an 8-türkü album. Total cost?
Combo starts at 7,000 TL × 8, but album packages give a better total post-brief. If you need physical CD mastering, mention in the brief.
My ney recording has prominent breath sound — is that normal?
Breath is part of ney's natural character. Tell us in the brief how much to keep. We trim only uncomfortable peaks.
